In case you haven’t noticed there’s a bit of a patent war going on in the mobile industry and its most recent battle took place when Google announced its imminent acquisition of Motorola Mobility.
The news took everybody by surprise and a lot is being said about how big a threat is this new Google-Motorola marriage for Apple and even Microsoft.
Well, I came across a different perspective this week. A blog post from marketing expert Lubor Ptacek (Why the Google’s Purchase of Motorola Could Be Great News for Microsoft).
Well, he has a very interesting view on this whole thing. While we are all thinking about the reaction from Microsoft and Apple to this new “Googorola” company, Ptacek thinks about the reaction from Samsung, HTC or LG. How are they going to see Google (and Android) now that they are direct competitors?
According to Ptacek this move may be a very good thing for Microsoft and it may open doors for Windows Mobile (the most obvious alternative to Android). We may be about to see a ton of non-Motorola devices with Windows Mobile.
Here’s the full article. We thouthg it would be nice to share it with you. As always, feel free to comment.
